Have you heard about the fabulous Book Xcess, the 24-hour bookstore in Cyberjaya? Located at Tamarind Square, the 37,000 sq ft. outlet presents us with over 500,000 exciting books on numerous topics. And the price is even more awesome, I think at least 50% lower than market price.
Tamarind Square, Cyberjaya
None of us had ever been to Tamarind Square. When we reached it, the location looked abandoned, actually, but the presence of a few security personnel reassured us that we were at the right place. They were extremely helpful and we easily found free parking spots.
Our adventure at Book Xcess was thanks to my sis-in-law, who told me about the 24-hour bookstore. She knew the kids love bookstores, so after we had visited Kinokuniya and MPH bookstores, we went to Book Xcess.
Inside Book Xcess The 24-Hour Bookstore in Cyberjaya
Upon entering the main door, we were greeted by the sight of books and these shopping carts. If I had any doubt about the affordability of its books, these carts asserted by confidence. Who would have thought that huge carts could be necessary in bookstores? I never even needed baskets before!
Spacious interior and seating place
I would love to become a resident in that fabulous outlet. It is my kind of heaven, honestly. Lots of books, comfortable seating area, no time-limit – if only I had the time to sit there forever… Now, if there were comfy, posh sofas, I could probably sneak a couple of naps in between books & dream on…
Imagine if Book Xcess has a cafe inside, I don’t care if they charge extra for the drinks, as long as they allow us to read the books at a leisurely pace and endure the occasional snores if I should accidentally doze off due to total blissfulness.
What books are available? Lots, of course! They have interior design/architecture books, history, nature, fiction, non-fiction, biography, kids, cooking, etc.
The price of everything is enticing. I could easily lost my mind and carted thousands of ringgit worth of books, if I had the budget. Fortunately, I didn’t lose my mind nor had the budget. 😜
I love historical non-fiction but nowadays, my time is limited. I have to read lots of work-related books due to 4 years of being a SAHM and losing touch with the working environment. Since my time is limited, I have to be satisfied with reading easy fictions to keep my imagination flourishing.
Although my kids have grown up, I am still excited whenever I see these books for little ones. They have sounds and toys – I almost bought one!
And also numerous pop-arts for fans to decorate the walls.
That was my basket. We filled it up almost to the brim. When it was time to pay up, the total was RM300++. We were ecstatic! And also signed up as a member. There are perks to becoming members, such as discounts and promos.
Our Haul from Book Xcess
Remember my favourite GRR Martin’s quote? I stand by those words. Once a book-lover, always a book-lover, I guess. I have tried to limit my book purchases to only essential work-related books, but Book Xcess is simply irresistible! The affordable price makes it hard to resist.
Those were just some of the books that we added to our shelves during our recent Raya trip. The girls took the rest with them when they had a sleepover at my sis-in-law’s place. And I forgot to take photos of the books we bought at Kinokuniya and MPH bookstore. My favourite of all is the pocket Sudoku – I worked on that daily and finished it about 2 weeks later. It was very addictive. The workout book consists of 4, so it was really worth buying.
Now folks, if you find yourself at Cyberjaya or near to it, don’t forget to head over to Book Xcess and have fun splurging on books! Or you could also order online at Bookxcess.com.
