As a working mom, I find shopping for blouses can be a headache due to many factors such as time-constraints, budget, suitability, etc. Going in and out of stores is a chore that I do not look forward to. Hence, I turn to online shopping for blouse and look for a style that would last for a few years. The clothes may not be very fashionable, but reasonably acceptable and of good quality. And looking back, I found that my preference is still the same as what I wrote in 2014 about dresses and blouses . Am I old-fashioned? Probably! Hence, so as not to risk picking a too-out-dated outfit, I turned to Zalora.
Online Shopping for Blouse
It has been almost 1 year since my last purchase at Zalora, and even then it was for work purposes. Why has it taken so long? Because of other more pressing needs. Ya, you know, those important needs to attend to such as yarns, floss, skincare, Pandora, etc. 😂 My therapeutic hobbies – such as cross stitching, knitting and crocheting!
Recently, I received an email notification from Zalora regarding sale of their ‘Mango’ items. I checked it out and wham! I was hooked because the price was quite reasonable, after the discounts, of course. You see, I’ve been in and out of physical stores around KK looking for good quality items and most of the ones I like are above RM70 each. I guess, while I was a housewife for 4 years, the price of clothing has shot up by at least 50%.
Dresses cum Blouses – For Me
These are dresses – as evident from their names. But I wear hijab as such these dresses will serve as blouses for me, to be paired with tubes/inner shirts and pants/skirts. Most of these dresses were produced in Spain, and are made from high quality material and would have cost a lot, if not for the more than 50% discounts – so irresistible! Lucky for me, there were many available in petite sizes of XS and S.
Mango Floral Wrap Dress
This one is definitely mine and I chose it because of the colour, cheerful pattern and unique design. Sweet and romantic. Since I’ve started working again, I have grown from an XS to S in less than 10 months. I guess working and stress have those effects on a woman. Especially one who doesn’t exercise much and ignore all her well-researched diet plans. Serve me right!
So, the loose cutting, and especially the high-waistline, could serve to camouflage my ehem….!
The usual price is RM169.00 and was on offer at RM62.90. It was produced in Morocco.
Collection Drawstring Sleeve Dress
After 4 years of avoiding the quartet of dreadfully formal office attire colours – black, grey, navy and white – Black is part of my wardrobe again! This one is very useful during emergencies when I feel bloated, getting ready to gobble an enormous amount of food, or when I just want to ignore my big tummy.
Only RM39.00 – a steal! There’s actually a simple trick to maintaining the crumpled look, and it needs no ironing.
Dresses cum Blouses – For Darling Daughters
Lace Ruffle Dress
I love the cutting and the material – stretchy, thick and gorgeous! Except for the laced neckline, I think this one will last for a long time. Produced in Spain, it is made of 94% Polyester, 6% Elastane. I hope it won’t be too challenging during hot sunny days. As the only available size is XS, so it goes to my younger daughter because she’s taller and slimmer. The usual price is RM149, but I got it for only RM54.90.
Wrap Front Dress
This elegant dress has soft material that drapes on the skin beautifully. It is for my elder daughter, who is smaller than her younger sister. Made with 100% Polyester, this dress is a bit fussy. The care label states:
- Machine wash cold with mild detergent
- Line dry inside out in shade
- Do not wring
- Do not dry clean
- Iron with low heat
- Do not dry clean
- Tumble dry medium
From RM109.00 to RM45.90.
I know my daughters would look lovely pairing these blouses with their favourite jeans.
One thing I like most about shopping for clothes in Zalora is, the model’s height and dress size are usually stated – so I could estimate the size and fit pretty well. Though the price can be more expensive than other online stores, the quality are good and so far, I have not been disappointed. Plus, their return policy is also fair.
By the way, on top of those discounts, I also got additional 25% discount and FREE SHIPPING! In the end, on average, the dresses are only about RM38 each.
How’s that for a crazy sale?
